🧩 Not Every Notary Fits in the Same Box

I didn’t start this business to play by someone else’s rules — especially rules that seem more about membership dues than actual integrity, training, results or THE LAW!

Let’s be real for a second:

🚫 I Don’t Belong to the NNA

The National Notary Association (NNA) operates like a gatekeeper.
They control the flow of signing agent jobs through their affiliates and partners.
You must pay to take their exam, then pay again for their background check — and then pay again to get listed.
They even circulate the answers to their own test inside their “approved” network.

That’s not excellence — that’s a subscription model.

🧱 They are part of the SPW (Signing Professionals Workgroup) — a self-governed board where lenders make up the rules. There’s little transparency, no democratic process, and no flexibility for notaries who work in niche spaces like mine.

🛠️ What Makes Me Different

I run my business based on actual experience, transparency, and lived truth. I don’t need a corporate membership to prove my value — my work speaks for itself.

And so does my honesty.

Years ago, I made a mistake. I was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and I panicked. I gave the officer the wrong name. It wasn’t smart. It wasn’t right. But it happened.

I was nervous, young, and unprepared for how fast a moment could turn into a criminal record.

Since then:

I’ve complied with the law
I’ve obtained my Medical Marijuana Card from the State of West Virginia
I’ve become a certified Cannabis Friendly Notary
I’ve passed a thorough, transparent background check with Trust-Me-ID
And most importantly: I’ve built something real
